[NEWS] November 24, 2007 - FGC's Bringin' Back the Hip on NYE, Winter Dig It II to go down on December 27!

Family Groove Company is Bringin' Back the Hip this year on New Year's Eve. The band will be getting down in style at the Redstone Room in Davenport, IA, part of the River Music Experience. Fans are encouraged to come dressed as flashy or refined as they like - we're looking for the hip and the cool, so show us what you've got!

On December 27, Family Groove Company will host Winter Dig It II, an FGC and Friends Holiday show in Chicago at the famed Martyrs'. FGC is thrilled to once again join in this festive time of year with a blow out performance in the band's hometown.

Further announcements can be expected soon regarding special guests, discount hotel rates, and additional details for both performances on the band's official website, as well as via Myspace and Facebook.

 

[NEWS] November 11, 2007 - FGC Crushes Halloween, Stay Tuned for Info on 2007 Holiday Shows!

FGC played two huge Halloween shows this year…the first annual Jay Goldberg Halloween Bash out at Three Sisters Park, and a headlining appearance at Urbana's Canopy Club on Halloween night. We are happy to report that both nights were a huge success, and the band brought the houses down as piano-rocker Elton John. Many thanks to all of you that helped make the shows such a success!

Looking forward, the band is very excited about this weekend's two night stand at Martyrs' in Chicago along with East Coast rockers Assembly of Dust. FGC and AOD will be laying it down Friday and Saturday nights - these show are NOT to be missed!

On the Friday following Thanksgiving, the band will venture out to the Clearwater Theater for a Thanksgiving weekend blow-out with our good friends, The Coop. The Thanksgiving show is just the beginning of FGC's 2007 Holiday season…stay tuned for more info on Winter Dig It II, and New Years Eve!

 

[NEWS] September 28, 2007 - Greetings From the Deep South!

The summer festival season has officially wrapped up, and FGC's fall touring has begun in earnest. The band is currently in the midst of a quick loop through the South, and will soon be back in the Midwest for shows in Macomb, Davenport, and a quick tour of several UW campuses.

The Strip Mines Music Festival capped off what was a spectacular summer for the band, and we would like to thank Zach, Tim, and all the great Strip Mines folks that made Labor Day weekend so much fun for us. The entire FGC family can't wait to do it again next year! (Click here for photos!)

With the beginning of the band's 2007 fall tour, we are very happy to announce the launch of the Fall '07 Family Groove Caravan! The Caravan is a brand new effort developed in concert with FGC fans and friends to help galvanize the FGC community, and make it easier than ever to spread the word about the band. Any fans that haven't already visited the new Caravan website should do so right away for all the info!

Looking further ahead, FGC is very happy to announce that the band is confirmed to appear at the Canopy Club for a headlining performance on Halloween, and we are also very pleased to confirm a two-night engagement with the Assembly of Dust at Martyrs' in Chicago on November 16 and 17. Lots of exciting things happening in the world of FGC this fall - stay tuned!!

 

[NEWS] August 20, 2007 - Sweet Corn, Strip Mines, New Earth Round out the Summer!

This summer has been KILLER! 10,000 Lakes, Camp Euforia, and Fat Fest made for an incredible July, and Log Jam, the Cabooze, and seeing our good friends at Byron's have already made August a blast! It was fantastic to see you all out there over the last six weeks or so, and we can't wait to do it again!

Looking ahead, FGC's got a double header this Friday, playing the Urbana Sweet Corn Festival in the early evening, and then heading up to Dekalb for a headlining set at the House Café. The band will then head east to Auburn, IN for another great outdoor show at Poncho Kelly's.

The final preparations are being put on the Strip Mines Music Festival, and we're ready for a HUGE three days at the Cave down in Murphysboro over Labor Day Weekend. Join FGC and a killer lineup that includes the Fareed Haque Group, the Codetalkers, 56 Hope Road, the Station, and many more!

Fall tour will start in earnest after Strip Mines, with dates coming up at the Redstone Room (w/New Monsoon), the Canopy Club, and of course, a headlining appearance at New Earth Fest up in Eau Claire, WI. [NEWS] July 1, 2007 - Summer Tour '07!

The Fourth of July is around the corner, and FGC has been enjoying a terrific start to what should be an incredible summer. The band took a little (much needed) time off in June, but still managed to throw down some great nights in Winona, MN, Oshkosh, WI and Davenport, IA, enjoy two HUGE outdoor shows at UW-Madison, and in Auburn, IN, AND make a debut appearance in Indianapolis. Many thanks to all of you who came out to support the band - we can't wait to see you all again soon!

July is shaping up to be a fun one for the band, as FGC will be appearing at a different festival every weekend - check out the tour page for full details! The band will return to 10kLF later this month (Barn Stage, 6pm on 7/18), and we are very pleased to announce that our very own Janis Wallin will actually be making two 10k appearances this year! Janis has been invited to lay down her funky low end for the Everyone Orchestra, and she will join the all-star band for their entire 10klf set! Catch Janis and the Everyone Orchestra on the Field Stage at 2:00 on 7/20 (Fri).

Also coming up this month, after sharing a night with good friends, Bump, at the Canopy Club in Urbana, IL, FGC will return to headline Martyrs' in our sweet home Chicago on Saturday, July 14. Please note that this show will be open to ages 18+! The band had a blast at the Martyrs' USTORM benefit last May, can't wait to be back in one of Chicago's best sounding rooms!

[NEWS] May 30, 2007 - Summer's Here!!

What a weekend! The band had a BLAST at Summer Camp, tearing up two fantastic sets, and wrapping up the festival sharing late night duties with Galactic inside the Barn. We really want to thank all of you that came out to support us - it was great to see you out there! Stay tuned for photos, audio, and maybe even video from what was a tremendous weekend for FGC!

With the arrival of Summer Camp, the Midwest festival season has officially kicked off, and the band will be keeping very busy. Look to see FGC making quite a few festival stops this summer - for details and a comprehensive list, please visit the tour page.

Some particularly noteworthy festival announcements…. We are very pleased to confirm that FGC will appear at the 10,000 Lakes Festival on Wednesday, July 18 at 6pm on the Barn Stage. The band will also once again host the Strip Mines Music Festival over Labor Day Weekend in Sheffield, IL, this time playing two nights!

Right around the corner is FGC's own, mini-fest of sorts, as the band will appear alongside Lake Mendota out on the Terrace at UW- Madison on Saturday, June 16.

[NEWS] April 25, 2007 - Summer Camp Set Time & Late Night Confirmation!

FGC is very happy to confirm that the band will be sharing late night duties with Galactic Sunday Night at Summer Camp '07. Campers can also catch FGC on the Sunshine Stage at 12 noon on Friday - stay tuned for further info and announcements!

 

[NEWS] April 8, 2007 – 10,000 Lakes Festival and another FGC Milestone!

FGC is very happy to confirm that the band will be returning Detroit Lakes, MN this summer for another appearance at the 10,000 Lakes Music Festival. 10klf ’06 was one of FGC’s top highlights of last summer, and the entire FGC crew is very excited for another terrific weekend.

This weekend’s featured show is on April 14th at Purdue University, where FGC will be headlining Cannabash. Of particular note for those fans that are keeping track is that the 4/14 event will be FGC’s 500th performance!

[NEWS] March 26, 2007 - Spring Tour '07 & Summer Festival Update!

Spring is in the air, and FGC's touring plans are as busy as ever! First off, the band just had a spectacular weekend with shows at the Redstone Room in Davenport, and the Clearwater Theater outside of Chicago. Janis, Jordan, Adam and Mattias would like to thank all the great people that came out last weekend, and made the shows so much fun!

April is shaping up to be a terrific month on the road for FGC. After starting things off in Winona on 4/4 (making up the date that was canceled due to weather in March), the band will be returning to do headlining shows at UW-Oshkosh and the Canopy Club in Urbana. A headlining appearance at Purdue's Cannabash will follow, before the band begins leg two of their spring tour down south. This spring's trip down south boasts a 4/20 blow out at Quixote's in Auburn, AL as well as a featured set at Auburn University's Earthfest. Additional dates include stops at Ole Miss, Louisiana Tech, Jackson, MS, and Birmingham, AL.

Spring Tour is upon us, so the summer festival season is right around the corner! In addition to previously announced appearances at Summer Camp and Dogstock, FGC can also confirm headlining appearances at SHARE Fest (PA), The Toiletry Music Festival (IN), Camp Euforia (IA), and the Strip Mines Music Festival (IL). Additional summer dates are already being posted to the tour page, and fans can expect further festival announcements soon, so be sure to check the official site often!

[NEWS] February 2, 2007 - SUMMER CAMP!!!

It may be hard to believe, but Summer Camp '07 is just four short months away, and FGC is very pleased to announce that the band will once again kick the summer off at Three Sisters Park on Memorial Day weekend. Set times and stage info will be following in the coming weeks and months, but with Medeski Martin and Wood and Les Claypool already added to the bill, this year's Summer Camp is shaping up to be HUGE!

FGC is currently wrapping up the first leg of Winter Tour '07. Thus far the band has had some great nights down south, with stops at Ole Miss, Louisiana Tech, Auburn Univ., Jackson MS and Knoxville TN. After returning to Chicago on Sunday (GO BEARS!), the band will spend the rest of February and most of March touring throughout the Midwest.

First up will be a killer night at the Canopy Club in Urbana with good friends, the Orchestrated Loons on February 8th. We expect to see folks coming out from miles around for this one, so don't miss out! Stops at Western IL Univ., the Quad-Cities, Minneapolis, and UW-Stout will follow shortly thereafter, and before you know it, FGC will be announcing plans for Spring Tour '07. Some big nights are already in the works, so stay tuned!


[NEWS] January 27, 2007 - Auburn shows

Apologies for the canceling and rescheduling of FGC's January Auburn Alabama shows. We are pleased to announced that we have scheduled a show for this Tuesday January 30 at the Olde Auburn Ale House, and we will be there! :) Thanks to our Auburn syndicate for their understanding, and we will see you guys on Tuesday!
